Yeah I've been to DoReMi and Town Music before and both are pretty ghetto... a bit sticky-feeling with funky smells (cigarette smell + you probably don't want to think about what else). At worst, Fillmore probably can't possibly be much worse than that.
Anyway they apparently do take reservations over the phone on the day of, so I'll be calling that morning to reserve the big room from 6-9pm.
I will try to go, no promises. Sounds like fun though.
Pretty sure I'm in, pretty sure I'll go for some cantonese songs :)

These places usually fill up quickly; calling a day or two ahead is not a bad idea.
Not sure yet if I can come. I'll probably know closer to the day.

heya guys, have things been finalized for this yet? i might not sing any songs while there, but i am down to hang out. if we are meeting up, i'll be there saturday in japantown @ 6 pm.

yes it's finalized, for Fillmore Karaoke at 6 this saturday. A couple of us will be meeting in japantown at 5 to buy snacks, etc. =]

They let you bring food in so a few of us are planning to grab bentos or something beforehand...

There will also be a BAAU meet that day from noon at the its usual place, so I'll be there during the day time, as well.
I am going to film festival earlier in the day, but I would like to meet up earlier like 5pm, but where? I want a chance to talk before the music and singing begins, and how much money will I need to bring with me? I am on limited funds I must make arrangements, unless I can use a credit card.
The rooms are pretty cheap... with the number of people we'll have it will probably be less than $10 per person.
