We are a trendy, artistic café in downtown Berkeley and are pleased to offer FREE exhibit space for our 6th exhibit entitled “COMICS.” We envision this to encompass comic book style pieces, manga, anime, super heroes and any other works related to this topic.
We are located on a major street and receive great foot traffic. Since our opening in April 2007, we have held five shows, all of which have received great reviews and exposure for the participating artists, including but not limited to sales, bookings for events and also featured articles in journals.
The Space:
We offer 5 panels of exhibit space for a variety of media best suited for: photography, oil, acrylic, watercolor, sketches, and graphic arts.
We are open to anything and everything that can be hung on a wall. Due to space restrictions, we cannot accommodate sculpture or other artwork that cannot feasibly be mounted on a wall.
Each panel is approximately 9’ wide and 15’ tall. Your artwork must cover at least 8’ x 5’ of that surface. You are not limited to the size or quantity of pieces, as long as they can fit in the given panel and compliment the overall show.
Once your artwork is submitted and approved, it will be on display for approximately 12-16 weeks. We hope to continually introduce new artists to the community, so we will be rotating the pieces often. You will maintain ownership of your artwork, but we will be entitled to determine how it is exhibited on our walls. Be assured that we will respectfully and tastefully exhibit your work.
If interested, please submit the following by FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12th. We are reviewing submissions now and will be hanging at the end of the month. Due to the overwhelming number of submissions we tend to receive, if your submission is incomplete, it will most likely NOT be reviewed.
