Alrighty, just got back from Fanime (wooooo!), and one of the main ideas I got from the panel was forming an anime group around Japantown in SF, so I wanted to take the initiative and get something started. I know there was one or two others saying the same thing, so if you could PM me sometime so we can discuss how to go about this, that'd be great.
Any other discussion, suggestions, and ideas are welcome in this thread =]
I believe it was mentioned to get the owner of japantown video involved, or that he was going to start something. So hopefully we can hear more on that. I definitely would join, I love going to the mall and I need more reasons to do it.

I'm all for meeting on the 13th. Even the 6th if we have enough interest ^^. I'll probably be bringing 2-3 people, including myself.
I can definitely make the 6th, since there will be Bay Area Artists Unite meet from noon in J-town that day, also. The 13th should also be doable for me, but I won't be able to make the 20th.
If there's a BAAU meet the same day I think we should definitely do the 6th =]
If I don't work I could probably come.

i'm going to attend the BAAU meetup this saturday also, but i would be down for a dinner meetup with everyone here on either the 6th or the 13th.

i'm a big fan of that place also. the last two times i ate there, i went to watch something at the sundance kabuki. :)

Hmm... I'm thinking the 6th might be a little too soon... ideally we'd get a newsletter out, announce the event, collect RSVPs, then make reservations (and make sure however large our group ends up being is fine with them). Next week Saturday seems like another good choice though. Would everyone here still be able to make it?
