  3. There's definitely something special about Chrono Trigger. I remember missing a lot of classes because of it. :P

  6. I'm not good at top 10's... but Chrono Trigger is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. Remember all those endings and New Game+? Even after it ends they give you reasons to replay it... genius! And you really can't go wrong with Toriyama-san's characters.

Plus frog song is probably the most triumphant video game song of all time!

Also loved FFIV and VI (II and III in the U.S.). It was all about Sabin's blitzes. And of course FFVII! Epic! What happened to the FF series afterwards?! IX was all right, but I am sick of the rest -- "interactive movie" deals that don't deserve to be called RPGs.

I'll throw in my vote for the Resident Evil series (excluding the horrible REIII) in the action/adventure categories.

This thread brings me back to my middleschool days. Here's a guitar cover of the Zeal song in Chrono Trigger: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmGrxxoUTr4

I don't play many new games but I totally can't get into the turn based style combat after playing Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6. They had their own unique aspects that kept the battles fun.

I think I'm gonna go hug my Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6 cartridges.

Yeah I heard they were pretty valuable with the box and manual. I kept mine for some reason and brought it up at a party when I was in highschool and some dude went crazy and tried to offer me insane amounts of money for it. Even today I don't think I could ever let go of it.

  10. Yeah I had it in the box with EVERYTHING, including the reg card and the receipt. Haha. I found my ebay end of auction email doing a search of my email archives and I sold it for $145 + $6 shipping on January 1, 2001. Not bad.

Wow! Do you still have a SNES? I need the power cable so I can play some RPG's!

  12. I still have one... sort of. It's at my parent's house in Hawaii and I don't think it's been turned on in several years. Never actually owned that many games as my brothers and I just used to borrow a lot from friends. Is it not just some kind of generic power cable (I think it's a power brick actually)? What games do you have?

Not too many left anymore. I've sold a bunch because they were crap or left them with friends who ended up moving or something.

Only notable ones I have worth mentioning are Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario World, Super Metroid, and Megaman X.
